Why I’m Pursuing This Leadership Designation

Leadership has always been a big part of my life—whether in my career, coaching others, or even in how I show up for my family and community. I’m pursuing this designation because I believe leadership isn’t just about experience; it’s about continuous growth. No matter how much we think we know, there’s always more to learn. I want to sharpen my skills, challenge my perspectives, and become an even better leader for my team and the people I mentor.

How I’ll Apply This Knowledge

For me, leadership isn’t just a job—it’s about making an impact. This course will help me refine the way I:

  • Support My Team: Making sure they feel valued, heard, and empowered.
  • Drive Business Growth: Using better strategies to create a strong and scalable agency.
  • Teach & Mentor: Bringing what I learn into my leadership classes and coaching conversations.
  • Build Something Meaningful: I’m working on a “Center of Excellence” for insurance agencies to create best practices that help teams work smarter, not harder.

Something You Might Not Know About Me

A lot of people know me as a strategic thinker and a numbers guy, but what many don’t know is that I pull a lot of leadership inspiration from The Tao Te Ching. I love studying how ancient wisdom applies to modern leadership—especially the idea that flexibility, not force, is what makes a leader truly strong. It’s a perspective that’s helped me navigate challenges, both in business and in life.

Looking forward to learning alongside all of you!

Excellent, Keith, as I noted to John Crist... Getting this certification is laudable as much research shows the positive effects including: International Coaching Federation notes companies investing in coaching is 7 times the initial investment; a Manchester Inc. study showed executives with a coach saw an average ROI of 5.7 times the cost of coaching; Harvard Business Review reports 86% of companies report they recouped their investment in coaching with 70% noting improved performance and leaders with coaching show a 60% improvement in goal attainment; Gallup found leaders with coaching were 21% more effective and had 25% less turnover rates; leaders with coaching improved their effectiveness by up to 40% based on org leadership assessments; and the Corporate Leadership Council showed leaders with coaching improved key competencies up to 35% more than those without. Bottom line, leaders with coaches are typically 30-70% more effective in critical areas of leadership performance.
