What score did you receive and why?

I received a total score of 118, with relatively high and balanced scores across all dimensions of leadership: traits (19), ability (20), skill (20), behavior (19), relationship (20), and process (20). This result reflects a well-rounded view of leadership, emphasizing not only the personal characteristics and abilities of a leader but also the importance of relationships, collaboration, and practical skills in achieving effective leadership.

What did you learn about yourself because of taking this survey?

I learned that I value a multi-dimensional approach to leadership, which incorporates personal development, skill-building, and team engagement. Recognizing leadership as a process that involves both leaders and followers highlights my belief that strong leaders inspire through collaboration, shared goals, and continuous growth rather than through innate traits alone.

What modifications or enhancements will you make to be a better leader in the workplace?

To enhance my leadership, I plan to focus on fostering greater alignment within my team. I'll work to enhance trust and empower team members by creating clear expectations while providing space for autonomy and mastery. Additionally, I will be intentional about reinforcing a feedback-rich environment to ensure accountability and encourage a growth mindset. Lastly, I'll seek to strengthen my skill in relationship-building, promoting open dialogue and collaboration as foundational practices.

Keith, it's so refreshing to hear about "empowering team members." It's always easy to say but I can't wait to hear more about that!

I am curious about the "feedback-rich" environment; I wonder how to implement it at work.

Hi Keith,

Well rounded indeed! Empowering my team to complete projects, make mistakes, and learn is something that I also try to do. Over the years, I've gotten better at "releasing the reins" and allowing team members space and time to try things on different projects. Setting timeframes for projects and initiatives that includes checkpoints for feedback is an important part of a team member's development. I naturally have a laissez-faire approach to projects, but I'm not convinced that many people excel in that environment!
