Persuasion Assessment
-
What is your overall evaluation of your leadership ability to persuade others?
I believe I am a strong persuader when I have a clear message and understand my audience’s priorities. My ability to build trust and credibility helps influence others, and I tend to use logic and reasoning effectively. However, I sometimes overcomplicate my message, which can weaken its impact. -
What are your persuasion shortcomings and what can you do to overcome these?
My biggest challenge is identifying and sticking to the key points that resonate most with my audience. I tend to add too much detail or background, which can cause unnecessary noise. To overcome this, I need to focus on simplifying my message, ensuring clarity, and tailoring my points to what matters most to the listener. Practicing brevity and using storytelling can also help keep my message engaging without losing focus. -
What did you learn from this week’s assignments that would enhance your leadership persuasion abilities?
This week’s readings reinforced the importance of clarity, emotional connection, and listening in persuasion. I realized that persuasion isn’t just about making a strong case—it’s about framing it in a way that speaks to the audience’s needs and values. Moving forward, I’ll focus on reading the room better, trimming unnecessary details, and making my arguments more concise and compelling.
