My scores from Identifying your followership style.

Independent Thinking:  41

Active Engagement: 46

I must admit I am not surprised by the results.  I have always been an independent thinker and having my own mind about different perspectives. My curiosity to understand how and why about different issues or challenges.

I have always been engaged in actively listening and learning as much as possible on any subject or challenges that may arise.  I want to understand the assignments completely and see the project completed whether a leader or not.

This has been a wonderful study on followership.  It has helped me to better understand the value of followership within the organization. The different types of followership styles and how to approach followership within the organization.   It has shown me a tool to evaluate followers and loyalty to the company.

I just wonder how many followers would answer the assessment truthful before or after the job.  I wonder.

@john

I really enjoyed reading your post and appreciated how you connected your followership style to your curiosity and commitment to seeing projects through. It’s clear that your ability to think independently and stay engaged makes you a strong team player and problem solver. Your curiosity about understanding the "how and why" of challenges really resonates—it’s such a valuable trait for growth and collaboration.

Your question about whether people would answer the assessment honestly is such an interesting one. I think you’re right—how comfortable someone feels being truthful might depend on the workplace culture or even their own self-awareness. It’s a reminder of how important it is for organizations to foster trust so people feel safe sharing their true strengths and areas for growth. Thanks for bringing up that perspective—it adds a lot to the discussion!

John and Keith, that is a great point to remember in communication. Does the individual possess the ability to accurately self-assess, the courage to speak the truth, and the character to know it?
