What score did you receive and why?

I scored the following for each category:

Technical  = 24

Human = 25

Conceptual =22

The technical and human areas are in the high range and the conceptual is knocking on the door of the high range. I've always been interested in understanding the way processes and systems at my institutions work. I've found it helps me make changes to those systems and processes if I understand how they are working rather than just tearing them down. I think it also helps with the human area because people are oddly attached to processes that they are used to and change, even for the better tends to scare people. But taking the time to understand why the system is in place and how it evolved over time makes it easier to talk about how it can be improved to people who are used to it. The downside to that kind of work is that it takes a long time or very intensive study which is not always an option.

What did you learn about yourself because of taking this survey?

The results weren't all that surprising but did bring my strengths into relief with my "weakness." Weakness in quotes because I think that a few years ago I would have scored lower in the conceptual area. In recent years, I've been working on developing my conceptual abilities.
What modifications or enhancements will you make to be a better adaptable leader in the workplace?

I'm going to continue to focus on sharpening my conceptual skills. I am involved in more strategic conversations and I'm spending more of my time thinking about the future rather than just moving from one problem to another. There is a certain amount of joy that you can derive from solving a problem quickly, but I need to continue to challenge myself to consider larger challenges that may require long term thinking.
