While I anticipated a high score in Self-Awareness due to my ability to reflect on my emotions and actions, the high score in Internalized Moral Perspective was a pleasant surprise. This dimension reflects an innate sense of moral integrity that governs my actions. Upon reflection, I realize this aligns with my consistent desire to do the “right” things “right,” a principle I have upheld in both personal and professional settings. The Balanced Processing, on the other hand, scored low, suggesting that I may need to be more intentional in seeking and considering diverse perspectives when making decisions.
The questionnaire reaffirmed my high self-awareness and relational transparency, qualities I have leveraged in building meaningful relationships and fostering trust. However, the standout revelation was my Internalized Moral Perspective score. This made me recognize that my moral compass is deeply ingrained, likely influenced by my upbringing and core values. I often intuitively prioritize ethical considerations without realizing how much they shape my leadership style. This insight gave me a clearer understanding of why authenticity is at the heart of my leadership—something I’ve consistently demonstrated through storytelling, much like Brené Brown’s approach, to connect with and inspire others.
To grow as a more adaptable leader, I plan to address my lower Balanced Processing score by actively soliciting and integrating diverse viewpoints. This will help me make more inclusive decisions and ensure that my leadership reflects the collective wisdom of my team. Additionally, I will refine my storytelling approach to emphasize shared values and the diversity of experiences within my team. I can build a more balanced leadership style by cultivating an environment where all voices are heard and respected. Lastly, I will continue leveraging my high Self-Awareness and Internalized Moral Perspective to lead authentically, ensuring that my actions consistently align with my values while remaining open to growth and change.
Dr. Jolly, a profoundly reflective response! I loved your terminology "reflect the collective wisdom of my team." What a great way to express Balanced Processing! And people who live with a high degree of moral perspective alignment are at peace. Many are realizing that what they thought was anxiety was instead a lack of living authentically and not setting moral boundaries.
